HomeStack is an independent, advertising-supported website. Buying or refinancing a home means comparing opaque quotes under time pressure. We build transparent calculators and sourced guides so you can see principal-and-interest payments, rough affordability bands and refinance break-evens before you talk to a lender.

What we publish

A mortgage P&I payment calculator with amortization samples, a payment-to-price affordability sketch, a 10-year rent vs buy cash comparison, a refinance break-even tool, and guides covering APR vs APY myths, PMI, Loan Estimates and more.

How we research

We cite the CFPB, FHFA and IRS only for publicly documented consumer concepts. Keyword volume notes in the README come from third-party Google Ads studies and are labelled as estimates. We never invent lender rates or pre-approval offers. Every figure that comes from a third party is linked at the bottom of the page where it is used, and every page shows when it was last reviewed. If a carrier, retailer or organisation changes its published information, the official source wins over anything on this site.

How the tools work

All calculators run in your browser. Prices, rates and balances you type are not sent to our servers.

How we make money

HomeStack shows advertising (Google AdSense) and does not accept payment from insurers, brokers, banks or any company in exchange for coverage in our guides. We do not sell leads, and we do not sell or recommend any specific insurance policy or financial product.

If you spot an error, tell us through the contact page. We correct factual mistakes quickly and update the “last updated” date when we do.
